We have the privilege of working with amazing people and organizations around the world! Celebrating a few highlights from 2018:
Brazil – Training Judges
What a privilege spending a week with 100 judges – federal and representatives from every state in Brazil.
Dr. Evelyn Zellerer was invited to join a team of Brazilian trainers at the national magistrates school, ENFAM – Escola Nacional de Formação e Aperfeiçoamento de Magistrados.
Kwadacha Nation
Honoured to be invited back to Kwadacha Nation, a small, remote Indigenous community in the Rocky Mountain Trench of northern BC. Kwadacha means “white water” in the Tsek’ene language.
Dr Evelyn Zellerer facilitated Peace Circles training as well as dialogue to develop a strategy for responding to domestic violence.
We look forward to our continuing partnership and further trainings. A special acknowledgement of Khutsedzi K’ E’ Program Coordinator, Christopher Tyler for his leadership.
Mozambique – Peace Circles & Restorative Justice
It was inspiring and life-changing to do training in Mozambique, Africa. A partnership was formed for a pilot project with Turning Arms into Ploughshares (TAE), Christian Council of Mozambique and the Vancouver Association of Restorative Justice, with funding from the High Commission of Canada.
Dr Evelyn Zellerer along with Dr Frank Tester facilitated two trainings on peace circles and restorative justice – one in Maputo and another in Tete. A special thank you to our host and partner Boaventura Zita, Director TAE.
Ecologistics – California
Dr Evelyn Zellerer also had the pleasure of facilitating a workshop on Peace Circles in beautiful San Luis Obispo, California.
We thank our host Ecologistics, with gratitude for Doreen Liberto and Stacey Hunt.
Listen to the recording of our radio show on KCBX, featuring Dr Evelyn Zellerer and Doreen Liberto for an exploration of Peace Circles.
Keynote Speaker – ADR BC Symposium
Dr Evelyn Zellerer was the keynote speaker, along with the Honourable David Eby, Attorney General of British Columbia, at the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of British Columbia (ADRBC) Symposium in June 2018. Check out their website for the 2019 gathering.
Contact us if you are interested in booking Dr Zellerer for a presentation.
School Districts
We applaud school districts like the Sea to Sky and the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia who are implementing Circles and restorative practices. Dr Evelyn Zellerer is honoured to provide training with administrators, counsellors, teachers, Indigenous leaders and more.
We are thrilled to continue training with three school districts in 2019.
Seniors Wellness – Working with NGOs & Creating Partnerships
Dr Evelyn Zellerer facilitated our final Neighbourhood Circle to celebrate the completion of a two year initiative to enhance senior health and wellness. What a pleasure working with Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House and all the multiple partners!
We are also happy to facilitate meetings for the BC Association of Community Response Networks (CRNs), for the development of coordinated responses to adult abuse and neglect. We supported one of the oldest CRNs in Vancouver and also launched a brand new CRN for Renfrew Collingwood.
We’re Expanding – Our Trainer in South Africa
We are thrilled Sharon Wakeford joined our team as a trainer based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Sharon is an internationally accredited mediator and executive coach. After taking trainings with us, she is integrating Peace Circles into her practice.
Stay tuned for more upcoming trainings!
What’s Next? Nepal and much more!
We are delighted to be working with Indigenous communities, restorative justice programs, schools, government, corrections and more in 2019!
Yes we will also be offering our Peace Circles core training curriculum in the fall of this coming year. We are looking at our fabulously crazy schedule to see when that works!
